Letter from the Editor 1/31

Published by Ryan Windle on January 31, 2023

Dear Leader Reader,

Calm down, Elmhurst University, it’s not that type of “Burn Book.” For our special J-Term issue, we decided to give in to the y2k resurgence going on, and take inspiration from one of the most iconic movies of that time, “Mean Girls.”

This issue is full of opinions from our staff and editorial board, as well as some cheeky and fun references to the film, and our most eye-catching design to date. I hope this issue is one that all students will enjoy and find fetch.

While we may not be bright pink for the rest of the semester, I hope you continue to pick us up, although it may be in a way that you are not used to.

As you may have noticed, or soon will, we have limited our print issues across campus. This will continue throughout the semester, but we are excited to grow our online presence and shift our focus to more multimedia-based content.

While we will have limited print issues on campus, they are here to stay, because there is no better feeling than holding a fresh copy. But do check our website, www.elmhurstleader.com, and all of our social media platforms, @ElmhurstLeader, to stay up-to-date with us.

With all that being said, if you are interested in helping us through this change, and want to join The Leader, now is the perfect time to do so.

While we will always be writers at our core, if you are interested in content creation, or just want to join us for the ride, please stop by our meetings every Tuesday in Old Main 107 from 11:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.

I really do hope you enjoy this issue, and please, email me at rwind3048@365.elmhurst.edu if you have any questions.

Don’t get hit by a bus, and hope this semester is a good one.

Ryan Windle (they/he)
