Elmhurst College announces new vice president for Academic Affairs and dean of the faculty

Published by Josie Zabran on February 19, 2020

Elmhurst College chose Dean Pribbenow to serve as the new vice president for Academic Affairs and dean of faculty of Elmhurst College.

Pribbenow has been serving as the vice president for Academic Affairs and academic dean at Edgewood College in Madison, Wis. since 2012 but has worked at the institution for 15 and a half years.

At Edgewood, he served in a variety of positions, such as the director of an institutional capstone program and the inaugural dean of the School of Integrative Studies.

In an email interview with The Leader, Pribbenow expressed his desire for changing positions.

“Having been at one institution for a long time, I had realized that I was ready for a new challenge,” said Pribbenow. “I had an awareness of Elmhurst College and the quality of the faculty and educational offerings. When I saw the Vice President for Academic Affairs/Dean of the Faculty position was open, I was eager to learn more.”

Pribbenow will replace the current interim vice president for Academic Affairs and dean of faculty Constance Mixon.

He looks forward to what his skill set can do, detailing his plan of action.

“One of my first goals is to listen and learn so that I can continue to build upon these strengths,” explained Pibbenow. “I want to build strong relationships with students, faculty, and staff; understand the culture; and then identify the ways that I can bring my talents to advance the College’s commitments to student success in and outside the classroom, inclusive excellence, and strong academic programs.”

Pribbenow will begin his position at EC in March of 2020.
