One rape was reported in 2018 at Elmhurst College, according to the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report released October 1 by the Office of Campus Security.
One rape occured on campus, which is a decrease from 2017, where three incidents of rape were reported on campus.
In 2018, there was one incident of dating violence on campus, compared to in 2017 when there were four instances of on-campus dating violence.
The robbery in 2018 is listed as, “incident involved a perpetrator who stole a vehicle from a victim while displaying a handgun” and the incident was not committed by members of the community, according to the report.
Marc Molina, executive director of campus security, said that the incidents reported in 2018 were a decrease from 2017 because of the resources available on campus for students to report to.
“This is a result of the proactive education of our campus community on Title IX, consent, and respectful, healthy interpersonal relationships by various campus partners,” Molina said.
From 2017 to 2018, there was an increase of 36 liquor law referrals on campus with 98 reported in 2018.
There were 19 arrests made on campus for drug law violations in 2018, compared to the eight made in 2017.
The report states that, “Campus crime, arrest, and referral statistics include those reported to the Office of Campus Security at Elmhurst College, designated campus officials, and local law enforcement agencies.”
