Pop-culture artist Chappell Roan has publicly announced her parting ways with her talent agency, Wasserman. This is a statement following the recent public release of a string of flirty emails between Wasserman’s CEO, Casey Wasserman and Ghislaine Maxwell.

These emails were a part of a broader release of additional documents in relation to the Jeffrey Epstein case. Reportedly, these emails came off as flirtatious and romantic between Wasserman and Maxwell. While there is no criminal activity being mentioned in relation to this release, his association with Maxwell has drawn attention from the media.

This then prompted Roan to demand authenticity and accountability. In a statement shared throughout her social media platforms, Roan addressed this issue directly. “As of today, I am no longer represented by Wasserman, the talent agency led by Casey Wasserman,” she followed this by saying, “No artist, agent or employee should ever be expected to defend or overlook actions that conflict so deeply with our own moral values.”

“I have decided to part ways with Wasserman effective immediately,” Roan stated in her announcement.

The agency’s brief response to this release has resulted in Wasserman apologizing, expressing that he “deeply regrets” the emails and emphasizing that they were sent over two decades ago on Instagram.

There was a brief mention within the agency’s released statement that says that the emails were “taken out of context” and that the CEO is not being accused of any criminal activity. Wasserman’s team highlights in the response that there was no business or personal relationship between him and Jeffrey Epstein.

“I am terribly sorry for having any association with either of them,” says Wasserman.

Casey Wasserman has not publicly commented any further since the talent agency’s statement. With all the documents being released and the connections coming together that are associated with Jeffrey Epstein, a public conversation has been created about the relationships between powerful individuals in business and entertainment.

In an era where public image and values alignment carry significant weight, social media being a contributor, such actions can signal an effort to maintain a trustworthy relationship with fans.

Roan has yet to announce any new representation.
