The current season, season 34, of “Dancing with the Stars” has been controversial in terms of elimination order. I still managed to find my top 10 favorite contestants from the season. Read below my rankings based on performance and personality, as well as exploring what I liked and what the contestants can improve upon.

10th – Jordan Chiles

Chiles is a classy and elegant dancer. What she could do better is have better facial expressions when she is face-to-face with her partner, Ezra Sosa, instead of having a bored or blank expression.

9th – Andy Richter

Richter is like a kid on Christmas when he dances, full of joy and cheer. However, in many performances, he constantly does a cringey dance move that leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

8th – Corey Feldman

During his season, Feldman was very fierce. However, he can still be stiff at times during his performances and practices.

7th – Lauren Jauregui

She seemed extremely excited to compete. One way to improve her performance would be to reduce the number of solos and show her partnership better.

6th – Hilaria Baldwin:

She and her partner, Gleb Savchenko, have magical chemistry. Something she could do better is focus more on her dancing, as she smiles so much that it doesn’t seem like she is focused.

5th – Elaine Hendrix:

Her personality shines. She needs to work on the timing of her steps. Oftentimes, she is a beat off from the music.

4th – Alix Earle:

Earle embodies the character of the song for each performance. She would have been further up on my list if she made more eye contact with her partner, Val Chmerkovski.

3rd – Robert Irwin:

He has so much swag. It’s awesome how he and his partner, Whitney Carson, have matching costumes. The only criticism is that he seems like a really random choice for the show.

2nd – Danielle Fishel:

She is overall a great performer from her time on the ’90s sitcom “Boy Meets World.” What she could do differently is not be so eager for the music to start, being calm and prepared would have enhanced her performance.

1st – Whitney Leavitt:

Leavitt paired well with her partner, Jan Ravnik. Her energy meshed well with each dance. The only criticism for her is that her skirts are sometimes too long, and I was afraid she is going to fall, which took my attention off of the dance.

The season still has quite a while to go until the finale on Nov. 25th, but with extremely strong performances, even if I disagree with the elimination order.
