Downtown Elmhurst Celebrates a Family Friendly Halloween

Published by Kloe Roberts on November 4, 2024

Downtown Elmhurst was filled with children in creative costumes Saturday, Oct. 19, as families and friends gathered for a Trick or Treat event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. All the local businesses displayed posters in their windows, welcoming children to stop by for treats, or had boxes outside filled with candy.

At Fountain Plaza, a lively DJ kept the energy high, encouraging families to dance and enjoy the festive atmosphere. There were also exciting prizes awarded, adding to the fun of the day. North York Plaza featured more music and dancing, along with a range of engaging family activities that entertained attendees of all ages.

Also present at the event were emergency vehicles along Schiller Street, where children had the opportunity to tour and learn about the Elmhurst Police and Fire Departments. This educational experience was a hit for families as a fun way to show pride and safety awareness.

Overall, the Trick or Treat event was a resounding success, bringing joy and togetherness to the Elmhurst community as they celebrated the 2024 Halloween season.
