As the semester begins, so too does the fall sports season here at Elmhurst University. If you’re new to campus and looking to attend future sporting events, look no further! Here’s everything you need to know about Bluejay sports this fall.

Tickets

EU charges admission for most sporting events, and these tickets are not sold in advance. They can be purchased the day of the game or match, and are free for students so long as they show their Jaypass. For non-student adults, tickets are $8. For students from other universities and seniors, tickets are $5. Note that all the tickets sold for these events by EU are General Admission, with no reserved seating. So, it works as a first come, first serve sort of system.

More information on tickets, as well as full team schedules beyond what’s outlined below are available at elmhurstbluejays.com.

Tailgating

EU permits tailgating at their sporting events up to two hours before the game is scheduled to begin, so long as the party stops by kickoff. The City of Elmhurst prohibits open alcohol in public areas, and the Langhorst Stadium does not allow any outside food or drink. Tailgaters are expected to clean up after themselves and also must ensure that their vehicles do not block any lanes of traffic or driveways. Have fun out there, Bluejays, but remember to do so safely!

Upcoming Fall Sporting Events:

Football

The Bluejays hope to return to glory on the gridiron after a bumpy end to last season. You can catch the first kickoff of the year on Saturday, Sept. 7 against Adrian College in Michigan. Then on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 6 p.m. the Bluejays host their home opener versus Illinois Wesleyan University at Langhorst Field. And make sure you don’t miss Homecoming on Sept. 28 at 1 p.m. against North Park University!

Volleyball

Women’s volleyball starts their season in the Jim Coleman Memorial Tournament in Aurora, Ill. where they’ll go head to head with three local colleges. From there they continue their season with the Rhodes College Classic Tournament in Memphis, Tenn. before heading back home to kick off their regular season. The Sept. 13 home opener, held in Faganel Hall, will be against Lakeland University at 7 p.m. For Homecoming on Sept. 28, the Bluejays compete against Knox College.

Cross Country

Come out and support the men’s and women’s cross country teams as they begin their season on Saturday, Sept. 14 at the Spartan Invitational in Geneva, Ill. While the time and location of the invitational is still yet to be announced, one thing that’s for sure is the Bluejays are going to give it their all.

Soccer

Friday, Aug. 30 is the big day for Bluejay soccer fans as the season kicks off with a home opener for women’s soccer on Langhorst Field at 5 p.m. where they’ll be going head-to-head with Lake Forest College. Followed by the men’s team at 7:30 p.m. against Lakeland University.

The women’s team will then have their second home game against Benedictine University on Sunday, Sept. 1 at 3 p.m., while the men’s team travels to Danville, Ky. to compete in the Bob Allen Nissan Classic at Centre College.

Women’s Golf

After last year’s successful season, the women’s golf team is back on the green for their first invitational of the season in Bristol, WI. on Friday, August 30th-Saturday August 31st. Go Bluejays!

Wrestling

The Bluejay men’s wrestling team and our newly introduced women’s wrestling team are slated to begin their competition season later this winter and into the spring. Keep an eye out for their upcoming meets!
