Editors Note

Published by Gianna Montesano on October 27, 2021

Dear reader,

As you may have noticed, or will notice soon enough, we do not have a sports section in this issue. The sports section for the last three issues has been lacking in content and filled with short game day blurbs that, realistically, hold no real news value to you if you’re a sports fan.

At The Leader, we value transparency and quality journalism above all else and in an attempt to keep you entertained with sports content. We simply do not have people to go out and cover these games to write stories filled with play-by-play analysis, locker room interviews, and crowd reactions.

We’ve been trying our best, but the best isn’t up to our standard of what is presentable.

With that being said, if you hate our sports day stories and know you can one up us in sports writing, come to our meetings. Meet with me, the interim sports editor, to devise a schedule of games for coverage, to figure out how to take the best game day photo, and more.

We want sports content, but we don’t have the people to help us get our sports section in tip-top shape.

However, some good news about The Leader sports is that we are currently developing a sports podcast to be hosted on our website. More details will be coming out about that as details solidify, but keep your ears alert for that.

If you go to every game or know somebody who does, please email me at gmont0454@365.elmhurst.edu so we can arrange for you to become a sports writer.

Thank you for reading,

Gianna Montesano, Editor-in-Chief
