Popeye’s in Houston held at gun-point for the legendary chicken sandwich

Published by Jenna Pederson on September 10, 2019

Anyone who’s gotten a chance to try the Popeye’s chicken sandwich should consider themselves lucky considering how fast it sold out. While most of us have had to begrudgingly accept waiting for the sought-after, sold-out sandwich to return, some people in Houston decided that was too much to ask for. According to CNN, a group of two men and two women between the ages of 17 to 20 pulled a gun on an employee, demanding the sandwich (I’m not sure how a gun is going to allow employees to produce a sold-out product). After fleeing to their car, the group decided that threatening an employee wasn’t enough and threw an empty trashcan through the drive-thru window before finally driving off. Now I haven’t had the chance to try the legendary sandwich, but I’d say that’s some extreme action for fried chicken.
