Published by Star Herring and Ashley Vanderhoff on October 27, 2026

The Barbara A. Kieft Gallery has a new exhibition: “Bite: A National Printmaking Portfolio Exchange.” The exhibition will run from Oct. 16 to Nov. 13.

The exhibition features 24 original prints by contemporary professional artists all working in etching medium, a process that involves using corrosive mordants to etch imagery into metal plates.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Oct. 16 at 12:15 p.m. in Old Main 101. Among those in attendance were Provost, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dean of the Faculty Courtney Miller; associate professor and Chair of the Department of Art Andrew Sobol; and assistant professor of printmaking and foundations Joshua Johnson.

The exhibition is open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. until the closing reception on Nov. 13 at 5:30 p.m. The exhibition is also open on select Fridays for the public.
