SGA recognizes new club for software development

Published by Gianna Montesano on November 19, 2019

Student Government Association (SGA) approved in a closed vote meeting to recognize Software Development Club as an official student organization at their November 14 meeting.

Software Development Club will provide students with the ability to participate in a club that provides students with the opportunity to practice app development and participate in hack-a-thons, according to Michael Foytiln, the Elmhurst College senior who brought forth the proposal for the club.

“If you’re interested in developing an app or a website, it’ll kind of allow people a place to come and discuss those things,” said Foytiln.

Members will not need prior knowledge on software development to join the organization, just an interest in the field, and it is open to students in all majors, he also added.
